Mrs Robinson's Disgrace

Possibly the best looking book you've ever seen?

Mrs Robinson's Disgrace: The Private Diary of a Victorian Lady, by Kate Summerscale

My loveeely sister Rebecca is down from University for a few days. We all went to collect her and then to Stratford Upon Avon (Shakespeare's birthplace) to do a bit of shopping, where naturally we had to go into Waterstones.
My reading choices are primarily based upon my sisters to be truthful; she has a very good eye for finding a good book, and always recommends the ones she thinks I will like, which I always do.
So she bought this book, The Suspicions of Mr Whicher about a year ago, and having just peaked the 'I love Sherlock Holmes and everything else detective' phase, I managed to convince her to let me read it first (how? I don't know). It's by Kate Summerscale, and I enjoyed it so much because it was written from a case (commonly known as the murder at road hill house), but in a fictional style. Sadly, the TV programme was on at the same time and, as much as I wanted to watch it, I needed to finish the book first!
The picture above is her second book that I know of, and I am about 1/4 of the way through already having just started it.

I wanted to post a photo of some of my favorite books, about 4/6 having been suggested by Rebecca. From bottom up; The Picture of Dorian Gray, Nineteen Eighty Four, Alice in Wonderland, Anne Frank's Diary, The Hound of the Baskerville's and Rebecca (all time favorite book, ever). Ones that seem to not be in this pile that I love just as much are Dracula and Animal Farm.

Looks will be posted more frequently soon, I promise!
